Katrina
Disaster Response
Even though overtwo yeasr have passed
since Hurricane Katrina ravaged the
Gulf Coast, the need for supplies
remains critical. Each week Christus
Victor Lutheran Church in Ocean Springs,
MS distributes about $100,000 worth
of food to the still-homeless and
the still-jobless. It is estimated
that in Mississippi alone nearly 60,000
homes remain to be cleaned and rebuilt
before the owners can move back in.
A list of current needs can be found
on
www.campvictor.org.
We need your help with donations coming
in for Katrina relief. If you are
available to volunteer some of your
time, please contact Ted and Bonnie
Knauss at 215-393-5408. Training is
available and schedules are flexible.
Perhaps you would like to go to
the Coast as a volunteer relief
worker. Teams are forming right
now! Work crews will be needed for
quite some time to assist with the
rebuilding. If you’d like more information
about being part of a work crew
or to sign up for one, contact Lois
Kadel.
