The Richard D. Stephens Memorial Golf Outing (also known as The Shepherd's Shelf Swing!) is just around the corner.  We've scheduled another great event at the beautiful Lederach Golf Course in Lower Salford for Friday, May 3, 8 AM shotgun start.  We hope you'll mark your calendar now and click the link below to register today!Why is it so important for you to put this event on your busy calendar?  I'd like to be able to tell you that hunger has been alleviated in Montgomery County - but I can't.    I'd like to be able to tell you that our state funding has been increased so we can buy healthy, wholesome food - but I can't.  I'd like to tell you that we have many community food cupboards helping address the need - well, there are many food cupboards out there, but two have closed in the past year adding many more families who come to The Shepherd's Shelf for help.  And I'd like to tell you that the cost of food is coming down - but I can't.  These are a few of the factors we are facing this year and why it is so very important for you to say "Yes, I can!" and register to support us at our Golf Outing.Your help is vital to our ability to serve our neighbors in need.  Please read more about the outing below and see other opportunties to help us in our efforts!  And please, forward this e-newsletter to everyone in your address book!  We need to spread the word!

Diamond Sponsor Level Added!

We have added another sponsorship level for our golf outing!In addition to our Silver, Bronze, and Gold levels, we've added the Diamond Sponsorship!  The Diamond level includes free golfing for your foursome and your company or personal name on golf tees or divot tool!  Please contact us for more information about our sponsorship opportunties!

2012 Statistics -

Thanks for helping us feed so many!


8,090 bags of food were distributed to over 4,000 of our neighbors in 2012.  The retail value of each bag is set at $30 per bag resulting in $242,700 worth of food given out. 


Because of the closure of two local food cupboard 151 new families came to The Shepherd's Shelf for help in 2012


We continue to be a 100% volunteer run program - and 2,500 volunteer hours were logged last year.


Thanks to all who have donated and or volunteered!  Your gifts of time and treasure makes a huge difference in the lives of so many!

Golf Outing Luncheon 


If you aren't a golf enthusiast, but are interested in supporting The Shepherd's Shelf, we'd like to invite you to come to our luncheon following the golf outing on May 3rd (approximate starting time 12:30) at The Lederach Golf  Course, Lederach, PA.


Our menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings!


Prizes will be awarded at the luncheon, chair massages will be available for all participants (for a donation!), and you will have the opportunity to bid on items The Shepherd's Shelf needs - such as a freezer full of meat, a portable conveyor belt, and bags of groceries!
